Last Tuesday, May 27, 2025, 4MATT held the second meeting of the ITAM & CMDB 2025 Journey, focusing on the “Processes” stage — one of the fundamental pillars for ensuring governance, data integrity and operational efficiency in asset and configuration management.
The webinar was led by three 4MATT leaders: Ellen Ferro (Head of ITAM), Israel Nicholas (Head of Pre-Sales) and Margareth Morais (Head of Delivery).
The event brought together IT professionals from all over Brazil in a strategic conversation about how process architecture and asset lifecycle governance directly impact CMDB reliability and companies' ability to make decisions based on reliable data.
Main topics covered
During the webinar, essential aspects were discussed such as:
-
Clear definition of responsibilities throughout the asset life cycle, from requisition to disposal;
-
Standardization of operational flows, ensuring efficiency and traceability;
-
Importance of documentation and continuous review of processes;
-
Automation and adoption of good practices based on ITIL and the ServiceNow platform;
-
Increased visibility, reduced rework and greater audit compliance.
Visibility and complexity of IT infrastructure
Margareth highlighted one of the biggest challenges facing organizations today:
“Virtually every business relies on technology. Infrastructure visibility is essential, but also a major challenge. We are dealing with increasingly complex environments that are constantly changing. Gaining this visibility requires identifying, consolidating, maintaining and understanding information in real time — and this is where configuration management becomes indispensable.”
She also reinforced that achieving maturity in processes depends on the combination of appropriate tools, qualified teams and clear governance indicators.

CMDB as a strategic basis for business
Ellen warned that, without well-defined and consistent processes, it is impossible to guarantee the reliability of the CMDB, which compromises the entire operation and strategic decisions of the company.
Israel complemented with an expanded view:
“Even those who do not work directly with CMDB can see its impact. It influences the visibility of business areas, which start to make decisions based on reliable data. This creates a virtuous cycle: the IT strategy strengthens the company’s strategy, and vice versa.”
Upcoming episodes of the ITAM & CMDB 2025 Journey
The second webinar reinforced the role of processes as a central element for the success of ITAM and CMDB programs. ITAM & CMDB Conference 2025 continues in the coming weeks with new topics focused on the maturity of IT asset management.
Our journey continues towards the top, we will have two more online meetings where we will continue the subject. Check out the agenda: June 24th: Emphasis on people and July 29th: Centered approach platform.
The journey will end with a hybrid event (in-person and online) on August 19, which will bring together experts, customers and partners to exchange experiences and present real success stories.
