EDM04 – Guaranteed Resource Optimization
Ensuring that adequate and sufficient IT-related resources (people, processes and technology) are available to support corporate objectives effectively at an optimal cost is critical to operational efficiency. To this end, the EDM04 process is divided into three sub-steps:
EDM04.01 – Evaluate Resource Management

Objective:
Continually examine and judge the current and future need for IT resources, as well as the allocation and management principles that optimally meet the needs of the institution. -
Main Actions:

Perform control and administration of IT assets and resources used in the provision of services.

Identify costs related to materials and energy.

Ensure compliance with all governance, legal and regulatory requirements.

EDM04.02 – Direct Resource Management

Objective:
Adopt management principles that enable the optimal use of IT resources throughout their life cycle. -
Main Actions:

Establish and implement principles aimed at protecting resources.

Drive and communicate the adoption of resource management strategies, defining plans and aligning them with the enterprise architecture.

Define key objectives, measures and metrics for effective resource management.

EDM04.03 – Monitor Resource Management

Objective:
Monitor the main objectives and metrics of resource management processes, ensuring the identification and correction of deviations or problems. -
Main Actions:

Constantly monitor performance indicators related to resource management.
-
Determine how deviations or issues will be identified, tracked, and reported for future fix implementation.
